Office Manager extraordinaire: Izzah

TE is an almost 100% full female team of mothers and wives! It’s a small dedicated team for a demanding service line. Highlighting the TEam of women behind getting your couture looks wedding ready:

Meet Izzah, our Office Manager extraordinaire ✨ She’s been with the TE team since before our move from Club Street. She’s our directory for TE’s history and go-to for anything ops related.

You have been with TE for more than 5 years! Congrats on your long service award! What has been your greatest reward working in TE ?

I started helping out on an adhoc basis when TE was still located at Club Street, before joining full time after. I’ve watched TE grow from a mezzanine floor of a shophouse unit, with only one fitting room, two racks of gowns, and a handful designers, to taking over both floors of that shophouse unit, to the space that we have now on the 28th floor with an amazing view.

Aside from the TEam’s and company’s amazing growth, there has also been my personal growth. I started out assisting with hand-bead work and assisting the stylists. Over the years, I learned and grew, I have helped established processes and am now managing the operations from alterations processes to anything shipping and courier related.

A typical day at work…

Everyday is a different kind of hectic. It involves liaising and organising our team of seamstresses on alterations, managing the inventory, quality check on the gowns, assisting with in-boutique and home fittings, and a whole lot of necessary admin. It’s a full body work-out!

Off days are spent…

Two main things: Catching up on K-drama with my hubs (current fave K celeb is Choi Woo Shik but check in with me again few weeks later when I start on a new series) and having meals with my two rambunctious boys (when they’re not running around, that is).

There are so many gowns to choose from at TE, a personal favourite is…

The Ariel gown by LPG. Love the details especially the subtle beading and elegant use of feathers. It was also the first gown that I had recommend a bride and that she eventually wore for her big day.

Juggling multiple hats…

…Would not have been possible without family’s support and the company’s support. It takes THREE hands to clap (myself, family, & the company)!

Life as a working mom…

I have experienced life as a full-time mom before, and it’s not for me.. I love having a career! I’m 200% thankful for my village (big family) who have helped me care for my children so I could continue working.
